Back to Ahmedabad

Navrangpura sits just west of the Sabarmati and is one of Ahmedabad’s most central neighbourhoods, home to Gujarat University, several well-known colleges, Law Garden and the busy commercial stretch of CG Road. It has a mix of students, professionals and long-time residents, and it is easy to reach from almost anywhere in the city. For Myra members, Navrangpura is a natural meeting point: central, lively and full of places to eat. Introductions here often include people from Ellisbridge, Paldi, Gulbai Tekra, Vijay Cross Roads and Memnagar. The neighbourhood is at its best in the evening, when the Law Garden market sets up and the cafés fill with people. If you prefer a calmer first meeting, a morning coffee near the university or a walk by the riverfront nearby is a good alternative. During Navratri, the area around the university becomes one of the city’s busiest garba spots, which is wonderful to experience but better kept for a later outing together. The CEPT University campus nearby, designed by the architect B. V. Doshi, is admired by students of architecture from around the world. Amdavad ni Gufa, an underground art gallery he created with the painter M. F. Husain, is a short walk away and makes an unusual, memorable stop.
