Panchkula is Haryana’s part of the Tricity, lying east of Chandigarh at the edge of the Shivalik hills. It is a calmer, greener city with planned sectors, wide roads and easy access to the hills of Morni and the gardens of Pinjore. Many families and professionals live here for the quieter pace while working in Chandigarh or Mohali. For Myra members, Panchkula offers peaceful, unhurried first dates, often in sector markets or gardens. Introductions here often include people from Sectors 5, 8, 9, 11 and 20, as well as Chandigarh’s eastern sectors and Zirakpur, depending on your distance setting. Hindi and Punjabi are commonly spoken, and shared language often appears as a reason on introductions. A walk in the Cactus Garden or a coffee in a sector market works well for a first meeting, while a drive up to Morni Hills makes a lovely later outing once you know someone well. Evenings in the sector markets are lively but rarely crowded. Panchkula takes its name from five irrigation channels that drew water from the Ghaggar river, and the ancient Mansa Devi temple on its edge draws large crowds during the Navratri fairs. The Morni Hills, part of the Shivalik range, are home to two small lakes called Tikkar Tal.

Getting around

Good to know
- Hill roads have little lighting and mobile signal can drop. Do not plan a first date in the hills.
- Some sectors are quiet at night; arrange your ride before leaving a café.
